Robinson/Adams Press Release

As part of the Compassion Party, Robinson/Adams believes in caring for not only the earth that we have been given dominion over, but also the people who occupy it. In caring for both the citizens and environment, Robinson/Adams believes that the best way to tend to the earth and make the most of the energy options available to the U.S. would be to slowly abolish all use of fossil fuels. In 2017, fossil fuels were roughly eighty percent of the United States’ energy consumption. Because these fuels are nonrenewable, these energy options will not always be accessible, hence the need for a switch to renewable energy sources, such as hydroelectric power, solar energy, biomass, geothermal energy, and wind power.  Not only is the fossil fuel supply slowly depleting, but the use of these fuels is causing severe health issues and diseases for the people of America. As important as it is to end the use of fossil fuels, Robinson/Adams does recognize that forcing a quick and sudden switch to renewable sources would cause both chaos and a massive change in the economy. In the next 50 years, the world will run out of both oil and gas, while the coal supply will be depleted in roughly 125 years. Needless to say, these fossil fuels will not last long and must be replaced with a more sustainable energy source. Therefore, this gradual change from fossil fuels to renewable energy sources would take place over a period of the next 20 years.
