"Just as it is in Lewis' mythical land of Narnia, TeenPact is a sanctuary; a place set apart. It provides a culture for students to grow in their capacity, find engaging community, and strengthen their walk of faith in Christ. At TeenPact, people can dare to dream, to step outside their comfort zone, and make a difference in this world. We're taught to think deeply and trained for cultural impact. Then we're encouraged to leave the wardrobe. We exit the same door in which we came, and yet, not as the person we once were; we've been changed. I love TeenPact because it points us to our identity in Christ and then empowers us to live it in any sphere of life."
Hailing from the promiseland of York, Maine, Johnny Leifheit’s TeenPact story began when his parents forced him to attend a TeenPact State Class in 2008. Although he resented his parents at first for this decision, TeenPact ultimately became a catalyst for incredible life change. As he explains when recounting the story to us, “I can look back at that first experience and definitively attribute who I am today to those moments. It marked the beginning; an alteration of my life's trajectory for the better.” Through the examples set forth by staffers, Johnny found hope and witnessed the beauty of the Christian life like never before. Johnny is deeply grateful that God used this seemingly random leadership program to show him his purpose and create opportunities for him to make a difference.
